Guillaume Broust is an award-winning filmmaker with more than 20 years of experience in outdoor films and documentaries in some of the most remote and vertical places in the world. With over 200 films featuring climbing, paragliding, mountaineering, and skiing, as well as a number of awards to his name, Guillaume has created his own style and cinematographic universe.
Guillaume was the official Petzl videographer from 2001 to 2017, and directed most movies that Petzl produced, including those for each edition of the brand’s legendary RocTrip. One of his latest projects, The Sounds of Water, is a 52-minute documentary about the different ways people around the world perceive water. He now produces films independently.

This 52-minute documentary film explores the different roles water plays and the different ways water is perceived in communities throughout the world
During a yearlong trip around the world, meeting with local populations in big cities and remote villages, Perrine & Guillaume Broust embarked on a journey to learn more about people’s relationship with water, producing the documentary film, The Sounds of Water ("Les Chants de l'Eau").
How is water perceived and used? What are its benefits and risks? What legends are told about water? What is its history? All of these topics are covered through interviews with fishermen, farmers, free divers, ministers, researchers... This documentary expands the ways we think about and use water.

On location for the filming of «the Future of Climbing» this time with @theo_blass_climbing. Théo did his first 6a (5.10a) at the age of eight, which took him 10 attempts to achieve. Then at the age of 12, he sent his first 9a (5.14d…) Théo is a very talented young climber, but also deeply attached to the crags and nature. We can’t wait to show you what he has to say for our film.

Suite du tournage du film «l’Escalade du Futur» avec @cedriclachat cette fois-ci avec Théo Blass. Théo a réalisé son premier 6a à huit ans, dont il lui aura fallu 10 essais pour l’enchaîner. À partir de ce moment c’est le déclic, à 12 ans il faisait son premier 9a… Théo est un jeune grimpeur très doué, mais aussi profondément attaché à la falaise et à la nature. Nous avons hâte de vous faire découvrir ce qu’il a à dire pour notre film.

Chronoception goes Worldwide! 🍿(english below)
Notre film Chronoception a été programmé au Banff World Tour cette année, et il est donc projeté ce printemps dans des dizaines de pays et des centaines de villes à travers le Monde ! Pour la France, la tournée commence dès à présent avec Paris et sera diffusée tout au long du mois de Mars. Aurel, Tom, Guillaume et Lafrech seront là sur certaines dates pour vous donner quelques pépites et anecdotes de l’expédition. nde... C’est aussi là où convergent tous les grimpeurs, une fois l’hiver venu. A Barcelone, nous avons eu la chance de rencontrer @chris_sharma dans sa salle d’escalade, pour philosopher sur le futur de la pratique. Nous avons aussi interviewé Patxi Usobiaga à Oliana. Là-bas, un incendie a en partie endommagé la falaise mythique, nécessitant un sérieux travail de sécurisation et reconstruction de la part des grimpeurs. A Margalef, la commune se concerte pour trouver des alternatives à la surfréquentation dans le Parc Naturel, tout en préservant l’économie locale du village et l’accès aux falaises. Autant de sujets sensibles qui seront dans notre film! Merci à tous les intervenants qui se sont prêtés au jeu et qui nous ont aidé dans notre projet. Prochaine étape : Fontainebleau et @arkose.montmartre !

Catalonia is home to the world’s largest concentration of 9th-grade routes... And it’s also a hotspot for climbers when winter arrives. In Barcelona, we had the privilege of meeting Chris Sharma at his climbing gym @sharmaclimbinggava to discuss the future of our sport. We also interviewed Patxi Usobiaga @pucseriestraining in Oliana, where a massive fire partially damaged the iconic cliff, requiring significant efforts for stabilization and reconstruction. In Margalef, the community is exploring alternatives to manage crowds in the Natural Park while preserving the local economy and access to cliffs. These are just a few of the sensitive topics covered in our film! Thanks to all who participated and contributed to our project. Next stop: Fontainebleau and Arkose!
